Problem when import AI files, created in Adobe Illustrator

Post by Artfunk »

hello
I have a problem when importing AI files on Lasercad created with Illustrator.
When I import the files I open are empty, I tried to save them in different versions of Illustrator, even the older ones, but I always get the same problem.
How do I fix it?

thanks

Can you save it to AI v8.0? There is some issue with latest version Ai and the programmer is currently working on Print Driver. Until then, there is not much we can do for Ai format

I am using Corel Draw 12 and when I import a file in .ai format (Ver 7) that was generated by Corel 12 it goes to a parsing file screen for a few seconds then stops with no sign of the file. Lasercad doesn't error or lockup, Any ideas how I can get my Corel jobs to the DSP controller?

I also get the same results when I try to import a PLT file created by Coreldraw, perhaps I am doing something wrong? I really appreciate your help Walt and anyone else that chooses to comment.

hi there
did you have any groups in the drawing? because mostly lasercut does not take it if there is any group in the file, just select all and then select ungroup in corel draw

I will try that but I am running Lasercad not Lasercut. I cannot find any way of getting Corel jobs to be accepted by lasercad. I did finally get a bmp job to come in from corel last night, it showed up on the screen in lasercad but when tried to download it to the k40 it gave a message something like file empty or no contents.

What do you think?

Ok guys
what version windows you guys are running??? if you run windows 8 already then its clear because the lasercad ( not lasercut was my mistake) does not work with windows 8 jet.
if you runn XP or windows7 then you should un-install lasercad including manually delete all lasercad files from the directory, empty the recycling basket. then shut down computer and restart then install lasercad new like shown here on the picture
then proceed with the previous picture for the CorelDraw macro
