a simple question

Post by barillo66 »

hallo
since I make modification to my k40 it all seems to be fine, except for a few small case in which the machine seems crazy,
but with a reset and re-download everything is as before (even if that work is going to be thrown),
but the question is this : It is normal that the laser begins to affect up to 20% power? Perhaps my lens is
too dark and does not pass through the laser beam or is it a question of settings?
Happens to you?

Thanks

Not quite sure what was your question about. I guess you asked why it need to set 20% on power setting in order to fire. Is it right?
Before I can help, I need to ask you two things:

First of all, are you using my DSP controller? Second, what power supply do you have? Picture?

Hi Marco
I bought your DSP and I mounted it, I'm working on and things come to me quite well.
One thing I noticed, when I set a value less than 20% power with a speed 100 (for example)
the laser leaves no sign the paper remains white, but if imposed by 20% over all is ok.
I repeat my work I satisfy, only this small detail. I have a 40W laser.
Perhaps it is the speed the cause of the problem? Too high?
Sorry me if the problem is with in my mind! ;)

Check your master power control see if it is set to too low. Usually we set it to 65~75% if you have a 40W power supply and a 35~40W CO2 laser tube. But, if the power supply is different than ours, than it may varies different. It's nothing wrong but some laser power or CO2 laser tube got higher "threshold" current. Our power supply can go down to 2~3mA and still able to fire beam out.

Also, as I always remind my customers, check the alignment and clean the focus lens. It is very important. Don't rug it with a tower but must use lens paper or use "Ultrasonic" cleaner. We have that for $35 a piece.

Hi Marco
these are my settings in lasercad, tell me if they are good,
the power supply is that of your DSP kit, lenses and mirrors are clean,
but mirror are slightly scratched and the lens of fire is clean but a bit opaque, hazy, perhaps the fault is.
These parties are held with k40 and so do not think are very good. The mirrors are aligned.
Soon I will have to buy new mirrors and lens, before making the order I will contact you first. ;)

The kit doesn't include a laser power supply. Are you using the original from K40?
If the lens is dirty, it will affect the performance a lot

Yes is true, I do not use the original of the k40, I have always bought from you 40W PWM CO2 Laser Power Supply
because the old power supply wasn't good for the kit (I read in the forum).
For lenses and mirrors I only care about taxes to pay when it come here to me. ;)
