Laser Tube may be faulty?

Post by Blasttiod »

Hi all,
Just returned from holiday and went to use the laser cutter and its not cutting.

The lasers bright purple when firing and the I've tried upto 18ma power and still no good. Checked all wiring etc and all is good.

Does this mean the tubes gone(its only 2.5 months old) ???.

Regards

If it is lightning in "bright purple", more bright and purple than usual, it means that the tube is leaking and the tube is dying. Better to show some images. How did you connect it? And what power is the tube? Where did you buy the tube?

Hi Marco,
Thanks for the reply.

Laser tube is a 60w and came from ColeTECH
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160345332811?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

I have attached 2 pictures.
Picture A was running the tube at 50% power and the power meter read 6ma
Picture B was running the tube at 90% power and the power meter read 15ma
Neither would cut through 3mm acrylic.

I've heard that your tubes are very good so will purchase through you if my tubes died.

Regards
Kevin

Hi marco,
After some more testing it looks more and more like the laser tube has gone bad.

If I order a tube from you how long approximately will it take to get to New Zealand and whats the success rate of them arriving intact(not broken).

If you could answer asap as my orders are mounting. Thanks

So far, we have no broken tube in history.
We used wood crate with soft foam to protect a CO2 laser tube. Unless someone drop it from 4~5 foot high, otherwise I see no chance the tube can be broke

Hi Marco,
I'm now going to order my new 60w laser tube from you.
Could you tell me what shipping service you use and a estimate on how long the tube will take to arrive in New Zealand.

I have some other parts I wish to order but think I'll order these separately from the tube.
