1) What size is the actual engraving?
2) What do you have the Position Relative set to?
3) What do you have the range set to for X a Y Axis in manufacturer parameters?

hi gadroc,
thanks for the reply.
the engraving size is only 50x50 mm and I have moved it in lasercut on every position inside the page size
in the manufacturer parameters I have set the size to X= 200mmm and Y= 300mm
I did read and read the manual what came with the 5.5 but this is mostly written for older versions even PHcad what is different
thank you for your help
greetings

Have you set the origin?

There are two modes of operation. One uses the position of the object within the work area, as displayed on the screen. The other uses the origin as set at the control panel. I think the default is the latter, so moving the displayed object has no effect.

Try moving the laser to the middle of your work area, press the origin button. Then press run. See if it runs.

Also, when you get the warnings, you can press enter instead of escape. That lets the job proceed, doing only the portion it is capable of. That will give you an idea of the size and position of the object in the output work space.

Ok. There are several things that come into play here.

First you need to understand origin mode. It is a menu item in the display control panel. You can set it to Key or Soft.

Origin Mode: Soft
This mode downloads the engrave and cuts "as-is" from the screen in LaserCad. If you draw something in the lower right of the document outline in LaserCad it will cut/engrave in the lower right of the machine bed. I have no idea how this will work with the Corel/AutoCad plugins as I have Corel x5 and can't try it.

Origin Mode: Key
Origin is set by using the keypad on the DSP control panel. Position of the drawing in LaserCad will be ignored and only actual drawing dimensions will be sent down to the DSP (relative position between items is maintained). Jog the laser head using the arrow keys and set the origin by pressing the origin button on the keypad. This will set the origin to the current position. Now if you hit the Box button it will move the laser head around the outer limits of the entire engrave/cut job.

Second you need to understand is Position Relative. This is set in LaserCad and tells the DSP where the "origin" is on your drawing. Position Relative affects two things about your job. It sets the direction in which engraving will be dealt with. If it's set to "*_Up" then engravings will be done from the top to bottom. If it's set in "*_Down" they'll be done from bottom up. I think this also affect some decisions on cut order as well but have not tested. Next it affects the where on your "run box" the origin is. So if it's set to "Left_Up" where you press the origin button will be the upper left corner of your run box, if it's set to "Right_Down" it will be the lower right corner and so on. Sometimes it's easier to line up a job with off cut material using different position relatives. It's important to understand though that position relative is set when you download the job to the DSP. If you reset it you have to download the job again.

Third for engraving is your acceleration and speed settings. The lower your engrave acceleration or axis max acceleration will affect the amount of "run over" space needed by the laser head. For example if you are engraving at 200mm/s the head has to be at 200mm/s at the first "pixel" of the engraving line and can't slow down until after the last "pixel" of the line. If it takes 2 inches to get to 200mm/s the head has to start 2 inches to the side of the engraving and begging acceleration and likewise will travel 2 inches past the engraving so it can accelerate back in the other direction. Those numbers are exaggerated for illustrative purposes.
