DSP and a PB E-Stop

Post by Ya-Nvr-No »

Is it possible to wire in a button push E-Stop to the DSP controller? The Solo has a nice large EMG. STOP button wondered if was possible to use it still.

I have been thinking exactly the same :D I guess it depends on your switch
My switch has two separate switches inside one normally open and one normally closed
I was toying with the idea of running the 24V power through my switch cutting all power to the DSP and stepper motors in an emergency :?:
Not sure if that is the correct way to go about it.

No, I was wanting a electrical contact point in the DSP that ties me to the Pause button on it. If nothing else I wondered if someone might have a schematic for the DSP and the LCD panel so I could trace the route. Should be able to cut or tie in to it (depending on how the Pause button worked NO or NC)

Cutting the power is not the way to go, though it will Stop everything.

I was impressed, if you do loose power, the DSP will start from the last known burn if you follow the prompts. Had the power go off here during a storm. Never knew it had a memory. Cool

edit: changed to the Pause button from the STOP button. The Stop button takes everything home when used, so it is still moving.
