upgrading from a 6c6879-m2:5 board
I have purchased the dsp upgrade kit and was wondering if anyone could help identify which pin is which on the ribbon cable in the bottom left of the picture. It is for the x motor and the x and y limit switches.

Get a multimeter and test continuity from the switch to the wire connector.

I found that since you should replace the optical limit switches with micro-switches, and all the hassle trying to connect to the ribbon at both ends for the X Limit, I just eliminated it and ran shielded cable in place of the ribbon cable after I had issues and spent all kinds of time trying to pinout and solder to that thing.. I would have Saved a lot of time if I just removed it and ran 6 wires (2 times shielded 3 wire from Light Objects...) and a shielded 2 wire for the Y limit.poopy wrote:I have purchased the dsp upgrade kit and was wondering if anyone could help identify which pin is which on the ribbon cable in the bottom left of the picture. Thanks for the replies
I am using micro switches instead as suggested. Very much simpler.
