LaserCAD styles

Post by KBill »

Is there a way to set styles, templates or similar to save cut and engrave settings. In other software I've set up defaults by material and applied them to color. Is there a straight forward way to do that with Lasercad? I was thinking of setting up a color for each material or somehow having a style that can quickly be selected.

That's exactly what LaserCad does.. At the bottom you see a lot of colors and each has their own settings, so if you assign Cut 70% power and 10mm/sec to the color purple, next time you assign the color purple to a vector it will be cut with 70% and 10mm/sec.
This info is stored in the Binairy file _Temp in the AWCCfg-folder. Unfortunately this file is not readable as text.. But when you put all data to the 20 available colors you could make a backup of this file

That's what I'd expect, but each time I close lasercad the settings go away. Is there anything I need to change so they're saved? The temp file updates when I close lasercad, but upon re-opening all the colors have the same parameters.

I see that same behavior. Are we missing some setting to default to new values?

Can it be that you need Administrator rights to write at the location you stored LaserCad??
I haven't set anything and every time I start up LaserCad, even after a complete shutdown of the computer, all value's are still there..
I have installed my LaserCad in the root of C:\.. Maybe that writing in another folder is restricted.. (Like Program Files and Windows folder)
