Translation for LaserCAD 7.60

I have been keeping a running translation for the LaserCAD software that should describe various functions in a way that makes more sense. Everybody is welcome to use it. Marco, you are allowed (and encouraged) to use anything out of this translation that you would like.

Let me know if you have any comments/suggestions.

Just by skimming through I saw some, like:

This software's been around for a while now, I'm surprised no one tried to correct the interface language yet.

If we could access the firmware's language file that would be great because there are lots of things there that made me scratch my head in confusion.

Fixed. I have been translating as I go, and have never hit the "New" button.

I mentioned it quite a while ago. I even translated it to Klingon (and Dutch), just for fun about a year ago. But I can live with the Chenglish version.
The problem with many translations the textfile is that sentences will not fit in the reserved space or that Hotkeys look Not-Logic to the subscription..
Like with Save, the S is a logic hotkey.. but translated in Dutch it is Opslaan in German Speichern (then it's logic again) in French Enregristrer

If there was a file where you could change the Hotkey-settings, so for the function Save you could use the letter O, for instance, it would be nice.

That makes me want to learn Klingon just to say I operate a CNC machine in Klingon (and to screw with the coworkers )

Well, the Chinglish IS comprehendable after a few tries, but it takes away from the credibility and perceived value of the product. Makes it look cheap. A nice UI would project professionalism authority instead of the whole "fresh off the boat" feel.
I don't think the hotkeys are supposed to change. Ctrl+S is Save As in every program universally regardless of language. I mean, "G" is the gradient fill in Corel but "X" is the eraser. It makes no sense. And that's okay.
The space issue is something that bothers me too.

Hi,

I thought I'd try my hand at fixing up the English translation for 7.76. I worked through the INI file, using the documentation to properly name almost all of the controls. Unfortunately, there are some newer features that aren't mentioned in the documentation, or at least not the version I have. For that reason, there are still a handful of mystery controls.

Overall, having a proper English translation drastically increases the usability of the software. What I thought was mediocre software before has transformed into something that's pretty impressive.

If anyone would like to use this translation, replaced the contents of the original "lang_Enu.ini" with the contents at the link above. I highly suggest backing up the original translation by first copying the "lang_Enu.ini" and renaming it something like "lang_Enu.ini.bak". The translation files are located in the folder "[Program Files]\LaserCAD\LaserCAD\AWCLanguage\". Also, you may need to be in administrator to modify the file right from the program files. Keep in mind you can copy the file to your desktop, edit it, then move it back.

This translation MIGHT be backwards compatible, since it seems that INI entries are never removed. And this is more than likely not forwards compatible since it will be missing any new INI file entries from newer versions.

I do hope that LightObject or Anywells considers fixing up their packaged translation file sometime in the near future. Until then, I'll just keep overwriting the INI files and patching in the new entries.

Let me know if I've missed or mislabeled anything, or if you can shed some light on some of the mystery features I skipped.
