Getting Ghosting on Text with Upgrade

Post by lasertime »

I have performed the upgrade and the laser performs as expected. The sample file engraves fine.

The problem I am having is I need to engrave text. I am using the software that came with the controller (lasercad v7.43) and trying to engrave text using the text tool. I have tried quite a few settings changes and different fonts and they all come out offset. (See the pictures.) Any ideas of how what settings I need to get crisp text?

Thanks for the help!

You can do a test: If engraving in one direction (Engraving Mode = X-unilaterism) works fine, you have to compensate for backlash or check if the belt-tension is fine and if the timingpulleys are fixed tight on the motor
Another thing can be the setting of the Pulse Edge: rising or faling ( you find that in Options - System Options - Manufacturers Parameters)

Thanks for the advice. I don't know if this helps at all, but I did some testing with cutting vs engraving. You can see that in cuttting mode there is no ghosting effect. So I am guessing it has to do with the software. I'll keep playing around with the settings, but if you have any other ideas of how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you look at the lens holder? The lens may get lose and shaking. Cutting is slower compare to the engraving.
Or, check the belt or the wheels see if any of those parts got lose
