Re: engrave beyond size
When I have seen this happen, it is because I'm trying to engrave too close to the machine's hardware origin.clivegriffiths wrote:I've been trying to sort this out for days now. I,ve tried everything I can find on the subject. HELP, HELP, HELP
The laser needs to start the head to the left of your engraving area, and end to the right, to give it enough room to accelerate to engraving speed. The actual distance may vary depending on how fast you're engraving and how your acceleration parameters are set up in manufacturer settings.
I usually use Key Origin mode and put the workpiece some distance from the machine origin, and have not seen this message since.
Things to check:
- Is workpiece too close to machine origin? (engraving too close to left edge)
- Is machine work area size set too small? (engraving too close to right edge)
- Are acceleration parameters set ridiculously low (I'm still using the default values, actual values vary by machine).
/Mitch.

Re: engrave beyond size
I get that error when I have the speed set to high. It needs more room to accelerate and decelerate at higher speeds.

Make sure the acceleration on the X is 10,000 or above and 5,000 on X
The K40 shouldn't go over 400mm/s or backslash may happen
Some may be able to go to 500mm/s but why drive the system to the limit?!
