Anyone else having trouble engraving with 6.88

I installed the latest update. LaserCAD V6.88 and matching firmware.

Lost all my settings (my fault) so had to set it all up again from scratch.

Spent half a day trying all the usual settings and some not so usual. Raster engraving was a disaster no matter what settings I tried.

Thought there must be some electrical or mechanical problem that has suddenly appeared. Couldn't find anything.

Then I thought, just in case, I will go back to an older version of LaserCAd and firmware.

HEY PRESTO !!!!! Just like magic all the problems disappeared. All good again.

Should have thought of that earlier. Would have saved me a LOT of time and frustration.

Anyone else had any problems with it?

I am using V8 of the firmware.

yeah I did have the same trouble first it would not even install, but marco helped me out it was that some of the old version was still in the registry because un install did not remove everything's. after removing this it worked like a charme. I use firmware V.7.

After getting a few days worth of engraving jobs done and having some time, I went back to this.

Reinstalled the latest Firmware 131010V8.UG5. Same problems came back. Rechecked all my settings.

Definitely a problem with the latest firmware I have. Cutting OK. Engraving is crap.

I assume there are not many users using V8 of the latest firmware. Most use V7. And this is why there are no other reports of problems with Firmware 131010V8

Either that or my download is suspect. (I only have the one download link)



So I am back with Firmware 121226V8.UG5. Which is working fine. Engraving is great. However it has the old problem with Z axis restricted movement.

What I would like is the firmware version before the latest update. I don't know what version that would be. Unfortunately I did not keep a copy. Silly Me

So can any one help me with V8 firmware previous to latest release.

Yeah 131031V8 works much better Marco

Obviously 131010V8 was faulty.
