45w 1m tube in k40? can it work?

Hello Marco,

Will the 1M 45w tube work with the k40 electronics, power supply, and mounts? I realize that a hole would have to be cut and an "extender tube" fabricated for the additional length, something like this;



But I would want to use the existing power supply, otherwise I will just replace with a standard 700mm tube. Thanks.

It should. The 45W is running about 1000mm compare to 700mm (30~32W) that K40 is using. One thing you need to double check is the diameter of the tube. Most 30W~40W tube are having 50mm(about 2") in diameter. Plus, most 40W CO2 laser machine is capable to output 20mA~22mA which is good enough to drive a 50W tube
