Splicing HV cable

The hv cable on one of our lasers caught fire (poor design apparently caused the insulation to rupture). Luckily we had a spare power supply on hand, so I spliced the 2 cabels together inside a silicone tube, added electrical tape rated for HV and lastly wraped it in a couple of layers of 2mm rubber. Its just a temporary fix. I really need a link to a supplier of HV connectors or does anybody had any luck making a "permant" splice and would like to share their technic?

You can triple wrapped the HV cable with high quality heat-shrink then wrap it up again with a layer of silicon tube like this one:

Make sure the HV cable is firmly connected to the laser tube with silicon glue or tube cover. Otherwise, an arc fire can happen!
