hi all, i've just converted a famous cheap chinese engraver with the dsp controller.
the dsp randomly reset and the motor stepper controllers go in power supply alarm (red led). i'm now using the 24volts coming out directly from the laser power supply that come with the laser engraver... may i use a better and indipendent 24v power supply?
thank you
giorgio

PS, i'm using "differential connection" for connecting dsp controller to the motor stepper controller, do you thing i should try the "common anode connection"?

Hi giorgio
what laser power supply?? post a picture to better understand what you mean.
the original main power supply 24V is to weak because your driver and DSP need more current .
you should buy a 24V 10A power supply.
greetings

We have had this happen due to a poorly grounded power supply. Make sure you have a filter before the power supply as well.

Re: dsp randomly resets... power supply issue?
Thank you for the answers, I will do some photos of the power supply, but may be the problem is that it is not well grounded, when I touch the case of the engraver I can often feel "current" on my fingers... I will try to check ground and I will try to use a standalone 24v power supply

Well the problem was the ground connection! Using a good stand-alone power supply i solved the problem! Thank you all
