Hi Folks,
I'm wiring a 2m415 Microstep driver to the AWC-608. However, I cant find a manual or wiring diagram for it. Can anybody please help?

DSP --- Driver
DIR to DIR
PUL to PUL
5V to OPTO
For small laser machine (42 seires motor or Nema 17), set it to 1/8 or 1/16 is fine
For the current setting, it depends on your motor rating.

The opto input was the one I was stuck on.

Re: Diagram for microstep driver 2M415 to DSP
Hi Marco,
I have a random problem with the 2m415. Every once in a while it completely stops working. The laser will be moving in both x and y but then sometimes it just stops on the Y axis where the 2m415 is. In order to make the y axis work again I have to turn off the power to the entire laser and then turn it back on again. It seems to me like the driver is in there overheating where there is an internal error which shuts it off. Can you please help me with this problem?

Did you swap the XY driver or motor to isolate the issue whether is it a driver issue or DSP issue or motor issue?
You know, I can't tell you the solution for all the problem unless you guys do some tests and give me some feeback.
It's hard for me to support if you just said "It didn't work, help!"

I completely understand. I am waiting for the axis to stop working again so I can flip a switch to run the rotational axis instead of the normal y axis. That will tell me if it's the driver or the dsp.Tech_Marco wrote:Did you swap the XY driver or motor to isolate the issue whether is it a driver issue or DSP issue or motor issue?

Let me know the progress. If it's a defective driver, you can send it back for exchange. There is a year warranty

Re: Diagram for microstep driver 2M415 to DSP
Hey Marco,
I was using the engraver today when the y axis cut out on me. I was prepared this time to test the axis! I flipped the switch to activate the rotary axis driver and motor and the rotary axis came to life. I can determine without a doubt that there is a problem with the stepper driver.
The next problem is the end of my school's marking period is next week. We have the students make their own rulers using the laser so I can't take down the machine to send the driver back. Is there anyway you could send us a replacement drive before we send the broken one back?
Thanks,
Chris
