"Communication unsuccessful"

Post by Gavztheouch »

Hi I have the awc608 and I am having constant problems with the usb connection.

My laptop regulary fails to download files to the controller from the laptop. This is testing the limits of my abilities to deal with frustration as I have no way of diagnosing what is wrong to fix the problem and it just feel like time is being wasted. Tonight for example I prepared a file for cutting, the job should have taken me 14 mins to cut, but I had to give up after 30mins as the Lightobject DSP would not communicate with my laptop. So I spent a whole 30 mins restarting my laptop and the dsp, unplugging and plugging in usb cables to see if I could get them to work.

I think it may have something to do with electrical grounding as it does work 50% of the time.

My quesiton is has anyone else had similer trouble? and what ideas do you guys have that may help me out?

I found that it may occur often with Windows7, especially the 64bit version. To fix it, simply closed the LaserCad and click the Right top corner to use the "Select Mode" to find the com port. Simply click "FindCom" and it should locate a USB port for you. Once it is selected, it should be all right. When you unplug the USB cable, or have the laptop turned off, you may do it again.

In some case, you may want to plug the cable to other USB slot. This issue happen more if you change the parameter on the DSP. You need to press the "Reset" to flash the mormory.

Sorry for my terrible english I hope understand me.

Hi I have the awc608 and I have problems with the usb connection.

I can't run PHCad! the message is

1) note: connect machine
2) communicating unsuccssfull! Make sure £°1.USB connect right; 2.com right.

I use windows7 64 bit and i have download the right driver.
In the control pannel of windows I can see the device
and the device is installed and all look ok.

I have try all the usb port, i have change the cable (but i don't think this is the problem because I see the device in the control pannel).
I have changed the port of device in com.2 but.... port 1 is not avilable only port.2 3 or 5 in my pc. Is this the probelem?
The display of DSP run correctly and the problem, I think is the software.

PLEASE HELP ME!

If you have a 608 card you should not be using PHCAD. You need to use LaserCad.
