Re: Converting K40IV CO2 Laser machine to DSP
Update (8-4-2011):
Found a new problem by boosting the T-H to 5V. The output file seems more 'flat' See attached images. I think the 5V push the power supply in 'satuated' mode. I'm going to try 4.6V later
Cutting is good as it now can cut 3mm epoxy glass without a problem.

Updat(8-4-2011, evening):
Found a solution. I dropped the 5V booster module. Then, adjust the power output control on the power supply to 19mA max. With the Analog circuitry that I installed on yesterday, actually it worked as it used different output signal patten to control the fire. The "TH" singal is not a constant 5V but variable, as opposite to a PWM power supply to which the TL always 5V (or closed).
See attaced images (a little bit over burned as I keep changing the power)

Try to burn it on a pieces of paper and if can send me the picture file and let me try it. Then I can tell if yours if properly setup. Did you use do 'dittching' on the image, if so what is the dot size?
Today I'm going to use a scope to look at the analog signal from the card. After that, I'm pretty much done on testing on the DSP card. And, I'll send it back to my customer Denis. He will use it on a D40K he bought from China.

It depends on your power supply. Some PS have lower threshold while ohter having higher. You need to set max power to test what is the mini power that you power supply will respond.

Most likely that it's the issue of your machine. I should have my card arrive on coming Friday. You can send me the file and let me try it
Here is the video I took for the D40K

Ha..ha... you're faster than me. I'll get a new laser head mount with the air-assistance soon. Possible in 2 weeks. It will be in black color. Picture below show raw aluminium.
