Re: PPI settings not working with the corel icon
I got no problem here and I don't receive other complain regarding this issue. It seems that your system may contain come software or coding that is blocking the configuration from working properly. You may want to turn off your anti-virus program or shut down the Windows auto backup feature to allow the system to register the setup. If you have Windows auto recovery enabled, the Windows always block file from being modified or deleted. Somehow you need to bypass it and let the system to take the new setting

Maybe you have two installations of lasercad? I had this problem last year.
Installed an update over the old one.
I think it was from 5.8 to 6.x
When started laser cut from the start menu it opens 6.x but when I start it over the Corel plugin it opens 5.8....

Ha ha, I can solve your problem. I too had a Corel issue in that when I run Corel the settings are different.
You have two versions of LaserCad installed, remove it all and reinstall.
If you installed the Corel Macro LaserCAD will be installed in C:\program files\corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6\Programs.
I created a shortcut to the .exe so that I can launch it independently.
I also edited the Softcfg.ini in
C:\program files\corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6\Programs\AWCCfg to enable PPI.

Re: PPI settings not working with the corel icon
hi there
no its not that I have two lasercad programs installed only the version for corelX5 and I changed the settings but it still does not bring it up even that it shows it in the file as enabled.
I removed and deleted manually many times all of the lasercad files and related parts and re -installed new nothing did change this.
greetings
walt

Re: PPI settings not working with the corel icon
It may not be Walt's problem but.......
If you use Lasercad with CorelDraw and do the installation as is often described, you end up with two completely separate installations of Lasercad.
One when you install the program as normal. And another when you install for CorelDraw.
These two separate installations know nothing of each other. A change in one is not replicated automatically in the other.
Opening Lasercad stand alone or via Coreldraw. will open different instances of Lasercad.
In software terms this is poor practice.
If you are a CorelDraw user, then it is much better to ONLY do the CorelDraw installation.
Then seek out that instance of the Lasercad.exe, ( typically something like, C:\program files\corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6\Programs)
and create a shortcut for it wherever you normally start the stand alone program from. For me that is the quick start menu.
This way you are only using one instance of Lasercad, no matter if you begin stand alone or via CorelDraw.
Any changes to setup or customisations will always be consistent. Much better practice.
