Hi Guys
This has been bugging me for ages so I thought its time to ask.
When I engrave a word (example Happy) the machine will engrave on the x axis the Ha then will do each letter individually this makes for a long engrave job
as the head has to accelerate -engrave -decelerate etc etc .
Is there any way to force it to engrave an area or word or whatever?
Thanks
John

Hi Guldberg.Guldberg wrote:Hmm. Doesnt make sense what you describes. Could you post a picture/sketch or something.
Cant really do a picture because its moving..maybe a movie
But what I am trying to describe is
Lets say I write "ENGRAVE" in Corel Draw..then send it to Lasercad
download it for engraving to the DSP press start
and of it goes.....
Instead of swinging from the E to the E (ie right across the whole word) and working its way down the whole word.
It might just do the RAV letters first then do each of the other letters in turn (RAV is just an example it could well be the NG )
So it may do RAV then E then N , G, E and so on
The order will be the same for that file every time I run it (as one might expect) but the order will not be the same for every word some words do go from end to end but that's a rarity sometimes it simply does the whole word one letter at a time.
I hope that's a better description
I guess I could make a you tube of it if its still not clear

Re: changing the order that lascead engraves
HI Walt
Tried that yesterday but made no difference.
Spent all today wrestling with other problems
Will go back to that when I feel the machine is reliable .. sometimes I just end up chasing my tail.
My machine has never really been 100% (as you probably remember) but up until the first tube change it was usable and you could rely on getting good cuts and engravings.
Since then its been real hit and miss plus one thing after another.
I am going to look into the RF tubes Marco was talking about and rebuild the machine.
Take care
John
