Power Z table for K40 with SC-04 controller

Post by Tech_Marco »

A lot of foks wondering how to driver a mini power Z table without using the DSP for the controlling. My tech worked out a solution with SC-04 motor controller and acrylic to make up a limit ruler. He created drawing in AutoCad DXF file, pdf, and LaserCad work file that one may download and build it very easy with acrylic. It is a fun project and I'll post more info later

I have installed the Light Object K40 Power table. I am using the 415 controller and sc-04 controller. I have inspected every option to get it to move but nothing seems to work. I tried another stepper motor and still nothing. I was able to get noisy movement using the DSP controller, and then it would lock up and If I did a DSP reset it would move very noisily and lock up again. I would like to just use the SC-04 controller with some momentary switches. Any advice on settings on the 415 driver and all would be appreciated.

It seems that the "um" value was not set properly. First of all , set 1/4 or 1/8 on the 2M415 driver. Then try 4,6,8,9,12 on the um see any of those number can make the Z to move. Once it move, then you can use the um calculator to find the proper um and it should run much smoother

Got the table working with the ECNC-S04 controller. Looking at the schematic I put the momentary switches on in1 and in2. When I put the momentary switches on in3 and in4 the table worked. I will try to use DSP at a later time. I have a beautifully working laser engraver now :)

Marco, did you ever publish the wiring diagram? Could be very handy when my table arrives...
