Does K-40 watt co2 laser work right out of box?

Post by jamminjack »

Hey there everyone.
I have been reading posts on this forum for several days. I can not believe the wealth of information
listed in these pages. Like anything new you need to find information and use it to the best of your
ability. From everything that I have read it all seems to lead to upgrading the K40 co2 laser... because
it doesn't work...

That being said, I would like to know if anyone out there has ever bought one of these K 40 co2 lasers from China, and set it up and used it..... I mean right out of the box? From everything I am reading it sounds like it won't work at all?
I know everything can be upgraded, and that is great, and this is definitely the place for any upgrades. But my question is, does this machine work with the software that is comes with? will it engrave and cut very basic items?
I ran across this u tube video by hackahobby.com. He has 4 video on his k-40 co2 laser. It seams like it works right out
of the box. I just wanted to confirm with you experts..

Thank you all in advance for any responses. :D

It should of course work right out of the box. Problems? The software and driver board stinks. You'll have to search for it but Moshi really only either vector cuts or engraves, not both easily. You won't have air assist which creates cleaner cuts and keeps your lens from getting dirty. The blower motor frankly stinks and the table/area to engrave is rather small.

in other words if in future you will want more from your machine you will get upgrade kit. moshi is a electronic scrap which will limit you.
