Hello!
My laser is functional now for over a year and without real trouble. The only problem is that I can not import DXF files anymore for some reason.
The old files that where on my computer work fine but for some reason new files wil not open and lasercad will crash.
Quite annoying and i think it has something to do with the dxf format.
How can I fix this?
Thanks

Re: Can not open DXF files anymore
Hello!
I'm using inkscape and illustrator. Sometimes it worked to load the dxf into librecad and then save it, but that option also stopped working.
For some reason importing a DXF from Solidworks works great but then again, solidworks is not usefull for editing images.
So importing works but not as it should. I can only import from Solidworks and not from illustrator, librecad, qcad or any other program.

Re: Can not open DXF files anymore
I would check to see if you have the option to save your dxf's back...for example, I use AutoCAD 2004, I have found it to be a very stable platform and all my dxf's are saved there. If there is an issue with that one, I save back to AutoCAD r14..also another stable platform.
You may look into downloading Draftsite. It's a free download and made by the folks at SolidWorks...it has the ability to save dxf's back, I believe. I have it as well. Being a CAD guy, I'm always looking for ways to manipulate my projects through a CAD system first...then go to a graphics program.

MMM Qcad does have that option and I've tried them all but maybe there is still a small difference somewhere.
Downloading draftsight right now and will be back with the answer.

Re: Can not open DXF files anymore
Well, lets start with the important stuff first:
Where can i download LaserCad v6.81? I'm still running 6.27 and a update could solve some problems or atleast keep me up to date
Are there firmware updates for the AWC 608 to?

Re: Can not open DXF files anymore
LaserCad v6.88 and OS just sent to you through email. However, there is nothing change in regard to the file issue. The Adobe Al file is very problematic as they keep changing and not open sources. The programmer has hard time to write a converter for it. So, you may want to use CorelDraw for file conversion or by other 3rd parties software for handling ai files. Currently, the programmer is working on "Print Driver" but I have no idea how soon he can complete it. It's been a project for almost 1 year.

Re: Can not open DXF files anymore
I've solved the problem so far:
Save the file as R14 Ascii with draftsight and that should solve it.
BTW:
The link to the DSP OS is not working..... I've emailed you just a few minutes ago. Thanks for the fast reply btw.
