What silicone sealant is required for wiring tube?
Is standard white hardware store silicone OK or is high temperature silicone a must? It looks to me the silicone used in the K40 is generic.

No, it is not right. It looks like a regular silicon glue you can find in hardware store but it is not the same.
It is 'heat transfer' silicon glue instead. See below:

Heat is transferred through the glue up to 130'C if I'm not forgotten.

I could swear I read that it was normal white silicone sealant and that it was used simply to insulate the wire. I'm getting more and more confused every time I read something on here. lol
Why would you need heat transfer sealant for insulating the wire?
Don't take this as me not agreeing, I just want to understand. I just did a quick google search and another manufacturer says normal 100% silicone inside silicone tubing to insulate the terminal unless we're talking about something different. If so I apologize.

Thanks for the reply and explanation. I have found some available 10 blocks away from me which is described as heat transfer silicone with excellent heat absorption and dialectric qualities as well. And Toasty the stuff on my k40 may well be regular RTV silicone... I'll be able to compare tomorrow.

Yeah, don't go by what I'm saying. I really don't know. I'm just curious as to why you would need the heat transfer stuff. When I got my machine it didn't have much silicone around the wire so I topped off the tube with the normal stuff. Hasn't been an issue but like I said, every time I read a thread here I'm seeing something I didn't know.

Sorry guys. I made a mistake. I though it was the post for the one who's laser water cooling fell off from the tube and asked if any glue he could use to fix it. For HV connection insulation, the silicon glue is just fine
