How to fix origin on workspace?

Post by jkittle99 »

I'm a new LaserCad user, just doing my first few cutting jobs, and I've got a question I haven't been able to figure out.

When i type text on the workspace, no matter where i position it, My laser always begins cutting at the origin. I presume this is because the bottom left corner of the text has the origin dot, not the workspace. How can I lock the origin to the corner of the workspace, so that when I position text in the middle of the workspace, it cuts in the middle of my cutting area?

Make sure your setup on "Position Relative" is correct
Also, on the LCD unit you can setup how the machine to Start at; mechine (0,0), Software, or Key control
It has been mentioned many times in the forum. Also, you can find the info from the manual. So, I'm not going to repeat again

The LCD settings for Software / Key etc did the trick for me, thanks! It's hard to search the forum when you aren't sure what to call things, so my apologies for asking questions that have been covered before.

It seems to me that the programmer "Li" change for fixed issue per request. That's why he didn't do all change in the log as the common way we do here. Most software company in US will push out an upgrade patch after certain time but not by per request. You could expect an update in monthly based but it is not the case for the DSP. You can tell that there is Pro and Cons to do "per request". The good thing is that a customer (laser manufacturers in China) can get error fixed quick. The Cons is that no log or too many changes could happne in a week or in a month. Because of this, I didn't release small update as
frequent as Li did.
