Two speed axis movement - feature request.

Hi Marco,

I would like to request a two speed feature for the x,y and z axis movements. The feature would allow the axis to be moved at a slow rate when arrow buttons are first pushed but accelerate to a higher speed after the button is held down for a few seconds.

Adding this feature allows for accurate target alignment (slow speed) but quick movements when move the head or z-stage is moved a long distance.

That is a good idea Wayne. It could be something like 5% of jog speed for the first second.


Another suggestion I made some time ago, was to make the existing "inching" function more accessible.

Presently it needs nine button pushes just to access it. So it might as well not exist.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to use a modifier key (say ESC) which when held, would make each press of the jog keys, inch the pre set distance.

I think I like your idea even better.

I have asked that feature long before but Li was not willing to do it for some reason. I even explained to him the advantage to have two speed setup. He said that he was too busy to add some features as it would take much time to implement it.

How about the ability to rotate a bitmap? Seems pretty basic to me.

Today I asked the prorammer again see if he can add 'dual speed'. This time he seems more willing to do it for me. I guess I have given him enough pressure and he may be tired of hearing my mumbling.

Well, untill he sent me the upgrade, please keep the expectation low so that you won't get disappointed. I'll try my best to get features you guys but no guarantee.
