Lately, it seems that everytime I am ready to dowload a file from the computer to the DSP unit, I must turn off the laser (DSP) and turn it back on for the LaserCad program to recognize the DSP. If I do not turn off the power to the DSP, it just sits there saying it is downloading the details (or whatever it says). This is getting to be quite annoying. Any assistance with this problem? I love my DSP, but I would love it more if it would stop doing this to me.

Re: Trouble with dropping out
You may want to try other USB port on your PC. Note that a USB port is not really 'unique' with it's own IRQ/port, it is a sharing I/O communication port. Devices attached to your PC may share the I/O and sometimes causing the issue expecailly on Win7. If you're running XP, the chance to see this issue occured is very low. Give a try see if it help

Re: Trouble with dropping out
Are you pausing jobs instead of having them finish? If so, try pressing stop on the dsp before downloading. Same thing happens to me from time to time since I'm testing a lot of different materials and pressing pause instead of stop of letting the job finish.
I'm getting in the habit of pressing stop before I hit download. Seems to be working fine now.
