The 40~60W PS is OK to the laser tube. As long as current is limited to 18mA or below, it works fine. But if you really want to use 40W, then you may need to wait for a while as a model of 40W will come in about 2 weeks. FYI, most manufacturer are trying eliminate the 40W as cost wise, both 40W and 60W are very closed and the 60W just work fine for a 40W laser tube.
Are you looking for 110V or 220V? I may have a couple left over. I got to check

Thanks. I wait while the DSP and TB6560 arrives. Now I am unsure which laser PS will I use. Maybe I will try to make it working with the original supply.

Send me some pictures of the original power supply. If you can, take picture from inside out. Also, I need to see the connection terminals. The DSP may work with your original PS

from experience I would not use the old laser powersupply because its analog and you can not use some feature from the DSP.

My recent experience is that we were unable to connect the new bits to a similar power supply. Recommend that you get a compatible PS from Marco. At least that way all the connection terminals are marked in a way you can understand and ordering now will get you going just that little bit quicker lol

We finally managed to do all the connections.
But now the machine doesn't power up. Actually it's a problem of the power supply. It won't switch on. It's set on 220v (that's the sign we see on the red switch) and we tried even to connect it directly to the power cable bypassing the power on button.
Nothing happens. THe fuse is in place and works (we tested it), but the fan and the led don't turn on.
So...what do we do?
Did we buy a broken power supply?

It's hard for us to tell what went wrong if you didn't provided more info like connection diagram, pictures of your setup...etc.
One thing you may forgot to do is to connect the "WP" to the ground to enable the Laser Power Supply.
If the power supply comes with a 'test' button, you can test the beam by press down the button. It should output 20% power

Marco, I must tell that the conversion does not require a bit of knowledge about wiring and such. it requires A BOATLOAD of KNOWLEDGE 
Now, we got the ps to work, even though the fan does not turn on.

The tweaking will take quite a bit. Also, a lot of things where hard to understand and find.
A better diagram of ALL the connection would have helped a lot.
Anyway, the fan works if connected to batteries, but it does not work when connected to the power supply.
The arrows on the display make the bars move, but we keep hearing a whistle coming from the motors. Also, the motors do a very ugly sound when moving...
There's a bunch of stuff that needs to get fixed in order to have a smooth working machine, but I'm afraid this forum does not deliver all the info it should. This could easily be fixed with a better connection diagram and a manual about converting the K40 to a new DSP machine.

It's not about the K40 machine, it's about the understanding of the DSP , the stepping motor driver, and the knowledge of the pulse unit concept. The K40 has no difference than other laser machine. It's just a smaller machine and it require the same setup as other laser machine.
The issue you're having is the concept of connection the knowledge of the DSP. I do have connection diagram to the DSP posted. I don't think that I have to post the diagram to a specific machine regardless K40, 1080, 1020... As I said, they're the same. The difference is the size of the chaise, the size of the stepper, current handling of the motor driver, the power rating of a laser tube... So, you got to understand the

That's why I asked you to send me the picture of the your system so we can see what driver you're using and what setting on the stepping motor you're using. Without proper setting of the (UM), your machine will never runs smoothly or moving at all.
