UPDATE:
It turns out my problem was caused by a low quality ON/OFF switch!, it was making a false contact, I noticed the problem because the machine suddenly turned off when I was cleaning the switch, I changed the switch with a new higher quality one and all problems dissapeared! I didn't think a bad connection could actually modify the files in the DSP's memory!, you learn something new everyday
Hello,
I've been having a really weird problem the last few days with my DSP controller (2011 version), The machine that uses the controller is cutting automotive carpet between 8 and 10 hours a day, the whole day the controller behaves perfectly, there are no problems, everyday after the working hours the machine is turned off and the power is shut down for the whole building, the next day, when I try to run a file that was previously stored in the DSP's memory, the machine doesn't cut as before, instead of cutting a continuous line it stops firing in the middle of some cuts, it's like some parts of the drawing got erased, the only solution is to erase the file from memory and load it again from the PC, even more strange is the fact that I have to reload the file with a different name for it to work, if I just overwrite the "corrupted" file, the problem persists. I really can't figure what could be causing this problems, and it seems to be happening only at night. By the way, the machine is also turned off and the power shut down around 1 o'clock for lunch.
Help would be really appreciated

Re: Really weird DSP behavior, please help
It seems that the memory may reached the limit. For 2012, the file saving doesn't over-write the previous file even with the same name! That's one of the bug that I got it solved with the 2012 (AWC-608). In your case, you may need to Format the system memory and load the new file again. As a reminder, always save original graphic files as the none of LaserCut, LaserCad, or PHCad can recover the image from the data file. So back up your work file for all your work, just in case file corruption happened and you can 'download' to system again.
Update me see if it works out.

Re: Really weird DSP behavior, please help
Hi Marco,
Thanks for the help but I've been testing some more without luck, i formatted the DSPs memory completely and loaded the files again but the problem remains, everyday after I turned the machine on I notice the files seem corrupted, sometimes it's like some lines got erased from the program, sometimes the speed or power changes, one time a program that was stored as cutting changed itself to engraving!, this is really weird, I'm wondering if there is a patch or firmware update that I could load to solve this problem. The only solution we have found is to load the files to be cut everyday with new names (if I load them again with the same name the problem persists), that solution allows us to cut normally but it's pretty bothersome to have to load again with new names everyday.
Hope you can figure out a solution to this

Please send me the info of the card, like the version and the settings. Both manufature and user settings. I'm currently in China and I may have a meeting with the engineers to get more info for you.
You may list the how the problem how it happened steps by steps. When it happened, how it happened, and how often. Also, what version of PHCard are you running. I will try my best to get you a solution

Re: Really weird DSP behavior, please help
Hi there
if you have the PHcad dsp v. 2.0 ( the blue caver) the probleme persist and as far as I know there is no patch.
this has to do with the way the memorie is used because the memorie is right on the min border
of the size what is needed ( acording to Ti the manufacturer of the dsp chip) the memorie what stores
the files is also used for the working of the machine some of the stored files will be over writen because
the machine data have priority.
the only way to solve it is like you allready found out to download the files everytime new after interuption
steps should be format the memorie ( from the PHcad software im download menue) and the dispaly, then reset
from both again ( programm and display) delete all files during download process in this submenue and download the file with different name.
if this still doe not help take off the DSP cover and there is a little switch ( see picture) press and hold it for a few seconds
this is the general reset.

Hi Walt,
That sound like my problem, I already formatted the DSP from the PC but haven't tried from the LCD menu, I'll try that, and if it doesn't work I'll use the reset button, after testing I'll come back to you with the results.
Thank you!
