to change the settings for the laser go to lasercut in option the system then in manufacturer settings and there you see the setting for the laser it should be set see atachement.

I dont know where to go in Lasercut 5.3 to change that setting, if it can even be changed in that program. Or is that a setting that i need to change in the machine itself? We are not using the stamp mode, just the regular engraving mode. Our computer that operates the laser is not hooked up to any internet at the time, but i will try and get a screenshot for you to see. Thanks again for all the help.

Their machine is different than yours so your setting won't work right for their machine. The pulse step for sure won't work for bigger stepper. The K40 is using 42 series but the big machine should come bigger like 57 for 86 series. If they follow your setting, most like that the machine will run very 'rough' as the puls step isn't right. Also, the size of working are not the same. For that machine, the range should be somehow 300 x 400. For the speed, it should go as fast as 800mm/s or at lease 600mm/s. The PWM frequency should be 20,000 in general. Max power should be 90 not 50.
Does your machine have a rise and fall table?
Is the table tight and doesn't move when engraving fast. My table moves a bit so I place rubber wedges around 3 sides when engraving so it doesn't move. The table only moves a little bit but it is enough to upset the engraving.
Do the waves keep the same size or do they change if you change engraving speeds.

Why would you want to do dithering for "0.0000001"?? Even 0.01 is small enough in most case, I'll say over 99%, correct me if I'm wrong. Remember, the number we're talking here is in "mm" and a laser dot is usually can't go smaller than 0.05mm. The K40 came with a low grade focus lens and 0.1mm is what I think the smallest it can go. There is no reason to do "0.0000001" for image ditchering. I don't know if it will create any problem DSP. Logical thinking, I won't do it though.
Hi
my table is the permanent no moving at all.
I did find out that the dithering in just the origional 0.01 is for pictures sometimes not enough I had pictures especially withnot much shades who came out best witha dithering of 0.00001. the dithering makes a difference how much is trial and error.

Hi marco
on my machine a setting of the PWM power over 50% puts the output measured on the mA meter over 20mA.
what distrois the lasertube pretty fast after the experts.
I thoughd that everybody knows the procedere how to find the right puls setting with cutting a exact square and compare the actuall measurments with the measurments put in lasercut.
I allways tell that I have a K40 machine.

Hi
I just re -formated the memory in the DSP and re-installed the lasercut 5.83 what shows up in the programm as lasercut 5.82 I dont know why this is.
but the waves are gone now.
the probleme with the LCD still exists ( changing position after pause - changing settings and re start)
does anybody have a probleme too with the upgrade for the DSP? I just get a " upgrade error"
