20W-40W-60W-PWM-CO2-Laser-Power-Supply

Does anyone know how to make this PSU emit constant power so I can take advantage of the Synrad Firestar's RF and send the PWM directly from the DSP to the laser tube? Other than keeping the "test" button pressed, that is.

You can just tap the +5V to the INPUT (PWM) port and have TL tap to Ground, OR TH tap to the +5V, that will give you full power in constant mode.

Is it what you need?

Yes that's what I'm looking for, thank you Marko. Since I'm gonna take advantage of the RF controller inside the Synrad Firestar I need the power supply to emit steady power, then the RF in the laser tube will control the laser pulse.

Then, you better to have a 5K (10K) variable resistor (VR)installed as a current control. It allow you to set the max current to the tube. FYI, a 40W power supply may output as much as 24mA while a 60W power supply may output as much as 26mA and if you don't have current control to protect the tube, it could damage your laser tube.

So, just get a 3 pins 5K (or 10K) vary resistor installed. Center pin tap to the PS Input, one pin tap to the +5V and anohter pin tap to the Ground. Or, you can download the power supply connection diagram from the "Download" section

The input needed for the Firestar v40 to work was a tad different from the power supply I bought, so I repaired and used the original power supply instead to avoid damaging the laser tube.

The laser tube needs 40vdc @ 1.5a while the power supply for glass tubes rates 24,000v 0.0025a.
