Homing at top right? Mirrored output?

Post by rapturedbyrobot »

I'm trying to set up the LO-X7 controller on the XLE 600x400 stage. I'm assuming homing is supposed to be at top right because that is where the limit switch mounting holes are. However, if I get the motors to turn to top right during the homing sequence then the output is mirrored when I run a job. Flipping the motor direction through the controller (Datum Direction) or by swapping wires from the motor controller will fix the output mirroring but then sends the head to top left during homing. Seems there is no combination that sends the head top right for homing and correct orientation for cutting. Am I missing something?

Probably.... Can you post a screendump of your Manufacturers -settings and Workspace settings... So i can compare them with my machine.. I have the home on top-right too..

Make sure that Page Zero and Machine Zero match your HOME location. It has been mentioned many times in the forum. Please read the "FAQ" I posted where the issue was addressed as well. Changing motor direction won't help

OK...I'm guessing those settings are set through LaserCAD and not the computer? Never got an install of lasercad...was that supposed to be sent along with the controller or do I have to find the download somewhere?

On this forum under Software downloads you find it all LaserCad (with the included USB-driver-install) and the latest patches for the controller.

hi Marco

im having a similar problem, my limit switch are in the left-top part of the machine, but on the dps it shows the px0 and py0 on the bottom right, ive change the machine and page zero to the same possition as well as the possition relative settings, dont know if has something related with the limit swithch, if i tested for continuity they are open, but when i press on them they read 02.6, and actually they are not working, when the laser head hit on them it tries to continue, no stopping...hope you can help me

Sorry to jump in here but... I had that problem and silly me, My X and Y limit switches were backwards at the controller. X was where Y was supposed to be and visa versa... Also, these are switches so when closed there should be 0 ohms, make sure the wire is large enough, I used the wire supplied with the conversion kit.

About a week ago i installed my old controller on a new build machine and everything moved as expected, Homing, keymoving etc BUT engraving came out horizontally mirrored... Same "problem" as here, i guess.
The solution was simple: i just swapped the two B+ and B- wires of the X-motor and inverted the settings for key-direction and Datum and then it worked perfect..

I want to know about your hardware setup.
Can you please share your schematics and the other details here?
Also what are the specifications of your controllers?
Which motors you are using and what are the specifications of your drivers for it?
