Your OS is very old. I have been posting many OS update for the last 4yrs and it seems that you didn't even update a single one. Without an update of a few version, there is no way you can update to the latest. Sorry, I don't know how to help because there are so many of those update and removed from the fourm

I'm involved in running 2 businesses and this is just one of my hobbies that I really enjoy and keeps me sane ! So it's not been a high priority to constantly check the forum for updates. I know I have done at least one if I recall correctly, as the original didn't have PPI and now I do.

Wow, you don't have an upgrade file folder that updates for what looks to me like your "flagship" product are stored in ? OK then, thanks anyway.

And, (some) older files produced in earlier versions of LaserCAD aren't compatible with the current LaserCAD version and I have to start over ? I guess I better start spending more time here, huh ?

After LaserCad made change to support Win7 or Win8, all project files created from the previous version LaserCad need to be re-generated again from the original sources. I don't know why but I was told by the programmer. Even though you update the DSP OS, you still need to re-generate those project file. This issue is irrelevant to the OS update. The DSP controller comes with 1 year warranty and free update within a year. I try to support it even though it is over 1 year. But for your case: 4yrs it is just a bit long that I can't roll back that far. I did my best to high light the importance of the update on the post but if you didn't check it then I'm sorry. I used to leave an older patch for over 6months to 1 year just in case someone need to roll back if the latest patch failed to work. I deleted it because I don't want to confuse anyone to use the new patch.

Marco, I completely understand all that. (except that some old files don't work and some do) I certainly in no way expect you to provide warranty support to a product like this that was sold some 4 years ago. I just keep all files, "just in case", I even have some that were from win98 days in folders organized deep in "Documents" on the new 8.1 PC. I'm just surprised a bit and disappointed I can't update my DSP OS, that's all.

Again, thanks for your help, talk with you later.

I'll try to 'dig in' my tool box see if I can find the 'major' update patch. It is a little hard because the AWC608 used to have 3 different hardware OS 6,7, and 8. Yours is "6". FYI, both 6, and 8 were no longer supported about 3 yrs ago after they (maker) decided to consolidate all into "7". Anyway, it will take me a whole day long to do the digging. Let's double fingers across it :|

Well, partial success. out of all the below upgrade files, only 130328V6 actually would complete the upgrade process. All others show "Upgrade error".

130328V6
130328V7
130328V8
140220V7
140528V7
150320V7
608150906V7

Odd, you would think if 130328V6 worked, then 130328V7 would follow.

Any thoughts ?

EDIT: I also found on my old XP PC these upgrade files...

111217V1
111217V2
120921V6
120921V7
120921V8

Your board is "V6" so it must used xxxxV6.UG5 patch.
The last V6 patch that I have is "131210V6.UG5"
Try it and if success, then try other patch like the 14xxxxV7.UG5. If it doesn't take it, then you're pretty much stuck at the 131210V6

OK, it did upgrade to the 131210V6.UG5 ! But won't accept any others.

Marco, I really appreciate your time in looking for the other upgrades and all your patience and help !!!

I still plan to build a much larger machine and I'll definitely be purchasing everything from you.

If you find any other upgrades in the future that may work, please let me know, but I'm happy we got this much done.

Thanks again and my best to you !

Sorry that I couldn't find any more update. I talked to the programmer and he said that he stop making that model (V6) about the same time he launched the patch. Everything since then was "V7". He said that there was a little difference on V6 on the board level. Currently, he is working on the latest DSP and developing a new 'Baby DSP' solely for me (Lightobject exclusive) . He can't spare any time for the old board. So, please accept my apology for not being able to get you more update

In return, should you need a new DSP, let me know and I'll offer you a discount. The best I can do
