Just trying this out at the moment, I understand setting the axis the same as the y.
But can not find out how to find the step per rotate, am I missing something ?
Set it up and set to start in the centre, but it turns so fast that it leaves the rollers.

In fact you don't need the step per rotate: you laser a box of 10cm high. if the actual box is, for instance 230mm high, you have to recalculate the step per rotate so that it is 2,3 times smaller..
But if you really want to know the steps per rotation you count the teeth on the wheels, calculate the ratio multiply that by 200 and by the microstepsetting of your stepperdriver.. Example:
the rollerwheel has 48 teeth, the stepperdriver has 16 teeth and the stepperdriver is set to 1/16 micorstep. Then you need:
(48/16)x 200x16 = 9600 pulses for 1 rotatation of the roller...
I thought you have an X7.. I have to try it myself, as soon as my controller arrives, but you can set the rotational to be V or W, set all parameters for that axis and connect your driver to that axes.. I think (i have to try it my self first) that you can enter all relevant data in the [system options / advanced functions] and when you check the rotate Engrave - enable, all Y-movements will be sent to your selected axis and Y itself is hold still..

Just draw a small square and let the laser to cut it on an object placed on the rotary. Then, measure the true dimension from the cut and you can calculate the 'um' value, same procedure as finding 'um' for X and Y

Got it engraving spot on, now it is the start up and stopping speed that I need to find.
If you start it in the centre, it go's so fast it sends the piece flying.
