Just finished the DSP upgrade. Had power but now nothing

Upgraded to the X7 kit. Followed the wiring diagrams exactly as they were and set everything to 220v (UK).

At first I had power. Was able to control the head via the Control unit. I powered down and started up twice no problems however the third time I get no power at all. Not to the stepper drivers or anything. I'm not sure exactly what I've done wrong

Blew a fuse?? (used a fast type that was killed by inrush-currents perhaps??)
Fetch your el-cheapo multimeter (everyone should have one IMHO they only cost you $5 or so) and check if voltages are present on the several supplies first..

Not even getting any voltage at the mains switch :/

The machine is plugged into a multi plug. Every other appliance is working fine. Changed both cable and fuse but still nothing. I'm a bit lost.
I'm using the mains wire that was originally in the K40 if it makes any difference.

If for example the psu was broken the mains switch would still light up wouldnt it?


My wife is going to flip if I cant get this working

Ok i didnt realise there was a fuse at the mains input.

Pulled it out and its blown so theres my problem.

Theres no markings on the fuse do im unsure of the amperage. Would a 10a 250v slow blow fuse be sufficient to replace with?

Sure it will be sufficient.. If it blows again you will surely need to investigate the source of the problems. Bad or oxidized connectors can introduce "strange" failures..
Personally i think a 3.15A slowblow is more than enough but i don't know what the power is of all your other appliances connected to this "multi-plug"
If you use a 15kw blower, for instance, you might consider if this is really necessary

Its a surge protector really. I have the k40, extraction fan, water pump and air compressor connected.

I'll pick up a fuse tomorrow and see. From what i can tell all my connections look ok but ill go over them again to triple check.
