Hi Marco
I have been reading the awc608 manual and also threads on the forum. I'm operating two computers one is a laptop 64 bit Win 8.1 Laptop the other is a windows XP desktop. The lasercad version is 7.43
I've tried connecting from AWC608 USB port to the PC USB port. I've been through the set up manual and just cannot get a "successful connection" via USB from either of the computers.
If power is off the laser engraver. plugging in my USB lead causes the display to light up and go through resetting. Neither computer shows any physical connection on the display or task bar. same happens with connecting when the mains power is on the engraving machine.
For the 8.1 64 bit computer I have uploaded the 8.1 driver rar file. No matter what I try even looking in the nothing is seen and I still get the "unsuccessful connection"
I've tried all setting up details. i.e calling it machine 1 and setting it to comm 4 . When I load up lasercad the default was COM 3 and the option of a couple of others.. I think COM 13 and 23 appear. ( I guess these are just default again?)
I'm going to try and get a cross over and see if I can change my parameters with that. Am I missing anything ?
Would this help or not? http://plugable.com/2011/07/04/how-to-c ... -windows-7
Thanks Andy

First of all, you need to load the 64bit USB driver. Double check that you have checked mark on the USB Mode connection but not the "Network Mode". Double click "MachName" and click "FindCom" If a connection is established, it will show you no error and assigned you a COM port number

Where does one find the 64 bit driver? I am having trouble getting my Win 7 64 computer to recognize the ACW608. Tried installing LaserCAD v7.49B and v7.52B and neither work.
