Hi folks,
I installed a x7 controller on a rabbit hx1290. Everything was wired up perfectly in under an hour! It was the easiest conversion I have ever done. I do have a problem with the way air assist is behaving. The solenoid to turn on air was wired on out #2. When a low ppi is needed the solenoid turns on and off with with each pulse. Obviously, the air assist should not be acting this way because it will burn out the solenoid and it doesn't provide good air for the cut.
Am I using the correct output for air assist or is there something wrong with the way the air assist is programmed?

Re: Air assist pulses with PPI on x7
You should use OUT1
The OUT2 output is following the laser firing.
If you have to use OUT2, add a capacitor to remove the pulse
Either way, the outputs are not strong enough to drive a solenoid but need a I/O driving board

That was it! Output 1 worked and the solenoid that you sell works fine with the DSP without a driver board. The DSP is running at 24v.
