hello,
I came across an error when trying to download a file to a 608 DSP. I get an error in LaserCad saying "The data is empty" and then goes idle. I can download other files that contain pics. This file is a single polygon drawn in LaserCad V7.36 and it is set to etch at a speed of 150 and power of 8. Tried formatting memory on the DSP, reboot machine, reboot laptop, it works for other files. I am running laserCad 7.36, DSP firmware is, mainboard = 7.14.07.08, LCD board= 5.13.09.15. Has anyone come across something like this when creating polygons?
Thanks

Post the file here for us to try. Otherwise, it is hard to tell

Here ya go. I just tried putting a tiny circle in the document and unchecked it in the layers option list. The file downloads now but the polygon won't run.
Thanks

Re: Error when downloading file to 608 DSP
I think I got it figured out. After some testing and beating my head against the bench, I get it.
The object in the file is not a closed object, it is a open polyline (lower left corner).
I had it set to engrave so being an open polyline it had no fill data for engraving.
I'm guessing because the line has no width, there is nothing to engrave so engraving needs closed objects that have a fill attribute.
I ran the Unite tool at a setting of 1mm and it closed the object. Now when the object is set for engrave the LaserCad app shows it filled in indicating the object is set for engraving. The file is downloading correctly and currently engraving the object.
Still learning, its a new hobby but sure is a blast.
