Lasercad Um/Pulse Calculate Help

Post by Techsavvy34 »

Can anyone help me figure out what my Um/Pulse is suppose to be in Lasercad? I know what my steps per mm and steps per inch is for my laser cutter but i don't know the equation to convert them to Um/Pulse.
My steps per mm is 49.261083 and my steps per inch is 1251.2315082.

What is current micro stepping on the motor driver?
You know there is a "um" calcuator on LaserCad? Just draw a 100mmx100mm square box and enter the "Expect" and "Acutal" value and it will get you a um value

the stepper motor is a 1.8degree, micro stepping is 1/10th with a 20T Pulley and MXL Belt with 2.03mm pitch. I know about the calculator in lasercad but I was wondering what the formula is so I can get my Um/Pulse close before I try to cut something.

"My steps per mm is 49.261083 and my steps per inch is 1251.2315082."

Then it should be 20.3 um per pulse/step

1/49.261083 = 0.0203mm/step or 20.3um/step
