You need a motor driver like the 2M415 to drive the motor. Same connection like the XY stage

Mine goes up and down (albeit the wrong way round) via the DSP control panel - very handy too!

Press "U/Z" to enable movement on Z and U axial

It is better you use the little motor controller to control the Z table. It take too much work to drive it by DSP as you need to install a limit switch for the Z table.
Also, by using the DSP, you don't have to use the SC04 controller board
I will say stay with the SC4 board, it is easier to take control than the DSP

I drive my z-table from the DSP without a limit switch - no problem at all!
