Cleaning Si Mirrors

Hi all,
I recently bought a pair of the 20mm Si Plated Reflection Mirrors from this site and when I aligned the mirrors, got the burnt gum from masking tape (vapours only) on one of the mirrors despite putting a piece of 0.8mm ply under the tape to keep the mirror clean.
Can you please advise what is the best way to clean these types of mirrors.
Can I use a cue tip with metholated spyrits and gently rub them clean?
How resilient are they compared to the standard gold plated ones.
Thanks
