dsp controller screen goes blank during job

Post by mafil25 »

when I run a job with both lasers on the screen on the controller goes blank then when it's finished the job it comes back up, but with chinese writing instead of english. if I run it with only one laser on the screen stays up with no problems. also this doesn't always happen sometimes the screen stays up on 2 heads, it's about 50/50 to where it will happen or not. any ideas on why this would be happening?

I don't know what you mean by "both" lasers on the screen, however...

I had issues with the control panel going blank and then coming back in full reset (Chinese). Finally found the problem. It was a loose pin on the molex connector on the end of the cable from the controller. Certain movements would lose contact and reset the whole thing. Once I pushed the pin in fully, it has never happened again. Look at the wires/pins on the white molex connector on the end of the cable. Make sure they are all secure. If not, push them in (from the cable side) until they lock in place.

sorry it was a run on sentence, should have been a comma there. when both lasers are running, the screen will go blank and come back to chinese after the job has finished. it only does it when both are going though. when I only run one laser it runs like it should.

well I got that part sorted out, I'm not exactly sure why it was doing that, have a emergency stop circuit that runs off the same power supply as the board, had to get another 12 volt power supply, apparently it had something to do with that. now though on the general I/O circuit I took the 5v output and sent it to a relay so that when my circuit for that is broken it sends the 5v signal back to the input to stop the machine, but now it isn't pausing the machine when you hit the e-stop it just keeps going.
