The question is in the subject, by that I mean, what is the best method to
connect the RED wire from the laser PS to the tube...
Are you soldering it or plug it with something?

Do not use soldering iron trying to connect wires to the laser tube as doing heat from the iron will cause the pin to expan and contract once it cool down. You may cause 'air leak' to the tube. Don't do that! Always use a 'cap' or coil the wires on the pins, then put some silcon glue to hold it tight.
