I purchased a JLD612. I hooked it up to a 120vac source, used J2 as the relay output, set the OUTY to 2, set the AL1 to 410F, AH1 to 405F, AL2 to 380F, AH2 to 390F and the SV at 400F. The controller worked great about three times. I read the "manual," which is no help to explain anything. The J2 output no longer is working. I tried the OUTY 0,1,2 options, but nothing. I got it on saturday and hooked it up on sunday (this weekend.) I moved to the J1 output and then changed the OUTY to 1, and also changed my AL1 ans AH1 to lower than 400F. Nothing. No alarm lights, no output lights, so J1 or J2 contacts are not coming closed. I confirmed this with a digital ohmmeter. I am using a small, 120vac potter brumsfield relay off of J1/J2 to operate a contactor. It it well under the 3amp at 120vac limit for either of those contacts. Any help, as it was working and now it is not. My projects have just come to a screeching halt.

I should clarify a bit and say that the last time it worked, I set the controller to raise its temperature. It worked till about 380F, then opened its contact and never would close them again. I watched the temp drop until it was under 200F and still nothing. This morning it was down to 60F in my oven and still wouldn't work. I moved it to J1 from J2, changed the settings, and nothing. No alarms, no output light, nothing.

Two problems here

1) Why AH1 is lower than AL1 ???
2) Why SV is higher than AH1 ??

The only reason to set AH1 > AL1 is for cooling. But you have AH2 > AL2 !! What are you trying to do here??

SV should be in the range of AH and AL or AH > SV > AL
