Unusual Request for the JLD 633 Controller...

Hi All, Im quite new to this controller and have a question...

JLD633 64 Setpoint Ramp Temperature Controller for FURNACE KILN OVEN

I am wanting to control a chocolate tempering machine with a predetermined temperature profile

Step 1 - 0 to 45
Step 2 - 45 to 27
Step 3 - 27 to 32 deg C

Problem is the time. All I know is that I need to hold the temp for about 10min at stage 1 and 2
Stage 1 hold for 10min at 45
Stage 2 hold for 10 min at 27
at 32 deg C it can hold 3 hours
So far, so good
----------------------------------------
Problem is...
1) I have NO time for the product to go from 0 to 45 - its by observation (till the product melts)
2) I have NO time from 45 back down to 27 - its until the product gets to 27
3) I have NO time from 27 back up to 32 - its until the product gets to 32

Any help will be much appreciated...

Your request has been forwarded to an engineer for review. Once a solution come up, I'll post it here

On consideration I believe the answer lies in the modL setting where S - PV (page 5 - Bottom)
If I understand it correctly -
Quit current step according to SV -
and start the Next step when PV reaches current step SV

In other words - This setting allows one to interrupt the current step and will only start the next step when the Process Variable reaches the current Set Point (SV)

Perhaps this will have the effect of effectively terminating the current step i.e. If one wanted to go to 45 degrees (and one didn't know how long it would take to get to 45 deg from 0 deg), the process would only move along once the PV reached the current SV or Set Point and NOT according to a Time Value.

Could this be correct?

Anthony

Here is the setting from the engineer. Try see if it works out:

c-01= 0 t-01 = 10 sv01 = 20
c-02 = 0 t-02 = 10 sv 02 = 45
c-03 = 0 t-03 = 10 sv 03 =27
c-04 =0 t-04 = 180 sv 04 = 32
c -0 5 =0 t-05 = 10 sv 05 =32
c-06 =0 t-06 =0 sv 06 =32
