How to invert text in LaserCAD?

How can I engrave inverted text using LaserCAD? For example, let's say I wanted to cut a stamp, so I need to remove all of the material except for the text. I spent way too long today trying to figure it out and finally imported an inverted bitmap, that then looked like crap when it was engraved.

(Also, I don't understand why if I make the image 50mm by 20mm in MS Paint, or Corel Draw, etc., it never turns out that size in LaserCAD. But the first questions matters more.)

Just draw a rectangle (or any closed shape you like) around the drawing that needs to be engraved. LaserCAD will automatically do what you want

And if you check "Simulating show objects of engraving" it will show the areas that will be engraved.
