Lasercad and non-English fonts

I am trying to engrave TrueType fonts that are not English. When I use the text tool in Lasercad they display fine, but when I hit enter to have the text displayed the letters all turn to question marks. I know the fonts are fine, they work in other programs with no issues. Is there some setting to display non-English fonts for Lasercad?
