Unfortunately there is no setting, yet, to divert rotational data to any other axes than X or Y.

It would be handy if you could select U in the Systems Settings. Maybe it can be implemented in future firmware versions??

For that reason I developed a small circuitboard that solves all rotational-issues, like reset, hot swapping etc.

why is there a u hook up if the dsp can not control the u? then can the dsp control a z?

The controller CAN control the U-axis:
U is for transport.. After a job the U is moved for a given amount. I use it, in combination with a simple circuit to lift the table when I want to multipass thick material to set the focus a few mm deeper.. During the job my Z becomes U..
When no job is running my Z is used to level the table and for autofocus.

ok since it can control the U how do i get it to do that ? i have the mini roller and the step driver hook to the u on the dsp i can make the mini go back and forth. but when i try to engrave a cup it does not move.

The U-axis is really for feeding only..
But with the newest software, there is a fixed amount of the width included. In the older software I could enter a value of -3 when I wanted the Z-axis to lower 3mm but now, if the object is 87mm wide I have to enter -84mm feed (and have the direction hardware inverted on the extra electronics).
Where can you doe that?
Well, if you save the work to the machine or U-file(on a stick), in the upper right corner, you see Current Document options, Work times: There you can enter the number of passes you like. Under Repeat Delay(s) there is a button with a dotted line.. This gives you the Document advance options.
When you checkmark Enable you can enter the right Feed Length(mm).. but as I said the width is included (unfortunately.. it was a lot easier before.. I had to change the electronics and have to make a calculation each time I want to use it..)

When you want the rotational to work fine you do need a small extra PCB and a separate stepperdriver IMHO..
