DSP language and communication issue

I loaded the Laser cad Software.. I am using windows 7 pro.. 64 bit.

the software loaded correctly but it would not communicate with the DSP( communication error) I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and also powered off and on the DSP. I reinstalled the software ( download it again from your site) and now only the Chinese version installs even though I select English. I believe I correctly removed all parts of the first installation before I tried reinstalling the software. can you tell me what I should try now?

Also, is the communication error because I had not down loaded the LO-X7 Patch to the DSP? the machine is working fine ( X/Y moving properly from the LCD panel input, etc.) so at this point it the Chinese language issue and the communication error are the only problems....

by the way I am using the USB connection and not the network connection.

Thanks for your help..

When you run the setup.exe for LaserCad, there is an option for the USB driver. I don't think you need to install the 64bit driver separate which is supposed for AWC608 only long before the V7.58 or V7.60. So, run the setup again, and click the button for the USB driver see if it can fix your problem.

If you look in the installation package you'll find the english language config file (Lang_Enu) in the AWClanguage folder. You can copy this into the language directory of your install directory. I would guess that you dont have any language config files in that folder at the moment.

I had the same problem and this fixed it.

About the language issue:
In the installationpackage you will find a folder AWCLanguage. In ther are 4 files: lang_chs.ini, lang_cht.ini, lang_Enu.ini and lang_other.ini
To make all languages in English you open lang_enu.ini in wordpad. Select All (Ctrl-A) and copy that to the clipboard (Ctrl-C) then open lang_chs.ini in wordpad, Select All (Ctrl-A) and replace that with the contents of the clipboard with Ctrl-V and save it (Ctrl-S)
do the same for lang_cht.ini and lang_other.ini.
So whatever language you choose it will be english (a kind of)
Some typo's, you find, can be corrected in those lang_XXX.ini files with wordpad..
You can also translate it in your own language.. with google-translate for instance.. Tip make all . (point) a * first, after translation remove the points and replace all * for a . Strange translations can be fixed manually in wordpad.. So, if you like to have a LaserCad in Swahili you can do that..

Thanks everyone! Software loaded correctly along with OS patch.

Can communicate with the dsp via the USB connection.

Will make a drawing and continue my set up.

Thanks again.
