Hi all; I've finally hooked up my AWC 608 (first version I think) to a 24v supply (verified it's good) and turned it on. Nothing else is hooked up but the LCD, just power to the main board and nothing else. Unfortunately, the LCD screen just blinks on and off non-stop no matter what buttons I push.

So... since there is nothing in the manual about trouble shooting or LCD blinking or anything else, I'm here to see if anyone has any idea. I'm going to continue hooking up the rest just in case it's expecting something else there but I'm already concerned it's dead. That would be incredibly frustrating as I've never used it and it's sat in a box for 2 years now unopened. I'm hoping that isn't the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Whew, some good news. The controller itself is fine but the power supply 24v/36v dual is shot. It is giving ~20v but the adjuster to raise and lower the voltage does nothing and simply attaching it to the controller ensures a drop of almost 10v. I ended up using a 36v supply and a buck converter to get to exact 24v and all of the sudden the controller fires up and I'm one step closer. Glad its just a bad cheap power supply and not an expensive DSP

I should open the powersupply to see if there are some bad solderings visible..
I had that a few times, probably caused by transport. It's worth looking at..
A few warnings: some components ca still be charged with lethal voltages.. Check that first with a meter before you touch anything..
Especialy look at the solderings of heavier components or components that are mechanicaly stressed like the connectors or transistors mounted on the coolingframe.
