Shenhui 350D upgrade with DSP Controller AWC-608

Hello, trying to solve problem I've been having with my Shenhui 350D by replacing my old controller with the DSP Controller AWC-608 from Lightobject.
The question: Is it necessary to change the 8-pin code on the X and Y driver controllers to the one shown in the installation diagram ( I understand there are variations as per individual machines )
or should my code remain in the same original manufactured position?
I have set up the software, double checked the actual engraving area, 500 X 300mm. Checked work area again when file is in LaserCAD.
At start up, machine cycles home to upper left corner, as I directed, X and Y show 0.00 on control panel, but when I try to "Box" the head slams up against the X and Y stages, and tries to continue past the limit, until I can hit the pause or reset to make it stop.
Would this be resolved by changing the code on the driver controller, or do you think there is another issue?
Grateful for any help,
Bill
